It was a feeble sort of evasion, a sad rag wrapped around his wounded word. His father would never have approved. I am the sword that guards the realm of men, Jon reminded himself, and in the end, that must be worth more than one man’s honor.

{Here is the newly revised “verses” page in which, no timeline touches another.}

Verse: To the Horizon

The default verse in which, Balder is reborn, seeking a trace of Asgard in the spaces between the sunlight, in the forest, at the highest peak.

Verse: As to Blood

The story came from Dany’s breathtaking mind. Once, there were three human princes, and one moonless night, a woman in red left their castle in ruins, choosing only one of the three to bestow her gift to.

Now, hundreds of years later, the immortal one steps forth, seeking newness, for now the vampire can walk in the sun.

Verse: One Hundred Feathers

There are angels and they have a duty: save one-hundred souls and ascend in status and power, in grace and beauty. But to save one-hundred and one souls is to damn the chances of ever seeing the face of God.

But some people are worth destroying your beliefs over.

Verse: Roiling Waves and Tumbling Tides

The story once again, came from Dany’s brilliance. One final job at sea, and the young man wishes to move as far away from the ocean as possible. But as the sea is wont to do, the waves of tempest roll in and find the choking young man directly in the hands of pirates.

Verse: The Grace of Light

A completely gender-swapped/bent verse in which Balder is called Ljós, a name for definitive light. Still she has the same path and now, she wanders this earth, seeking her home-world with searching fingers.

Verse: The Stench of Burning Rope

It begins the same way. Orphan boy, yearning to be a hero. Orphan boy finds out he’s merely mortal, not the god who the good nurses once read to him about. Orphan boy wakes up in the burn ward with irreparable scars on his palms from trying to stop the fire himself and as the boy grows, he finds the need to save others twisting slowly into obsession.

And obsession leads to a sentence in a psychiatric ward.

The events you speak of are not to be changed

yet your visions I can dissolve.

It is not uncommon for your kin to search vainly for peace.

Why do you not allow yourself to accept help?

Is it because you consider dreams

                                                            to be but useless delusions?”

"In sleep, Dreamlord, I find no peace," he spoke after a pause for respect.

"I close my eyes and feel as if my entire life has culminated to this moment:

                                     towards the world’s end.”

Indeed, gods existed because mortals dared believe in them.

"If I do nothing, my world will burn. Answers are mine to find."

Aliza Razell: Magic and Mystic Photography

Flickrock, Facebook

Massachusetts-based artist Aliza Razell creates tickling self-portraits that explore philosophical abstractions through the merged mediums of watercolour and photography. Using Photoshop, Razell unites the two mediums in her Anesidora (explorations of the Pandora’s Box myth) and Ikävä (the Finnish word meaning the feeling of longing) series.
